NJGA JUNIOR COMPETITIONS
Last season saw a marked increase in the number of players failing to turn up at Competitions they had entered and whose names appeared in the Draw. Some players obtained late entries and then failed to appear.
It is the player’s responsibility to inform the Junior Competitions Secretary if they are unable to play, messages given to other players are not acceptable.
Failure to comply with the foregoing will result, following letters sent to both players and their clubs, in a three competition ban from events they are eligible to play in.

CONFORMING DRIVING CLUBS & CONFORMING GOLF BALLS
As from 1st January 2008 new rules came into force concerning the above equipment.
The responsibility that their equipment complies rests solely with the player.

Nicky Maddison won the Northumberland County Championships retaining the title he won last year.Nicky is only one of seven players who have done this in the past 111 years Congratulations and well done Nicky.
Scottish Boys Under 16s Championships 8th July 2011
Jack Hermeston City of Newcastle finished as runner-
Jake Storey, Alnmouth also performed well to finish in 8th place with scores of 69-
The McGregor Trophy
Jack Hermeston City of Newcastle Golf Club was in a class of his own, dominationg the McGregor Trophy vitually throughout winning the English boys under 16s Championships with a closing round of 70 for a total of 281 seven under par which left him four strokes ahead of Scotlands Bradley Neil. Jack also won the under 15s title a unique double. Jack is the first winner of this title from the North East since Graeme Storm won in 1994.

A little bit of late news, Thomas Rowland has been selected for the England A squad so Congratulations and well done Thomas.

The English Golf Union has invited 21 players under the age of 18 to form its boys training squad for the winter months and 2012.many whom have already represented England at international level.
The squad includes British Boys Champion Harrison Greenberry, beaten finalist Patrick
Kelly, English under 16 Champion Jack Hermeston and Jamie Clare, runner-
Jack Hermeston, from Northumberland, was a clear winner of the English under 16 Championship for the McGregor Trohpy in front of his supporters at South Moor in County Durham, while he also finished runner up in the Scottish under 16 Championship, third in the English Schools and fifth in the North of England Youths Championship. Those performances led to his being capped at under 16 level against Scotland and Ireland. Congratulations and well done to Jack.
